43: Network State in a Van // KiftDAO

Background on KiftDAO:

Kift DAO is a non-profit that aims to purchase real estate for the use and enjoyment of the Kift community. It is controlled by NFT holders, who select and vote on proposals, including which real estate properties to buy. Their mission is to create inclusive, community-owned gathering spaces for people who choose to live communally and work from anywhere. They are always looking for active community members to contribute to the development and management of the DAO.

Key Points from this Interview:

  1. “The city is not the concrete and steel exoskeleton that you see, it’s not the office building or the bridge, the subway, it’s the people, the culture, it’s the community, it’s the employment opportunities, that’s the city. So, the city has moved online into a city of fiber optics rather than steel and concrete. Now we can access that city from anywhere.”
  2. “There is this problem that’s looming out there, there is this trend that we’re seeing towards decentralization all across the world. And I think decentralized technology is a product of a move towards decentralization. And then we’re seeing all the tools that are available to collectivize the DAOs that various web3 tech and tools that are available to make change happen really quickly.”
