20: BlockbusterDAO on The Creator Economy, Evolution of Streaming, and Brand Acquisitions // Tasafila & Gugz

Background:

Tasafila, the founder of BlockbusterDAO is here as our guest. We also have Gugz, who is also a CityDAO citizen and very active in the community guilds. Some of the topics that we discussed on the show today include the evolution of streaming, the creator economy, brand acquisitions, and so much more. We will also focus on our fellow Web3 community – BlockbusterDAO, what it’s all about and how they started.

BlockbusterDAO is a decentralized streaming ecosystem that enables an unprecedented, direct relationship between creators, curators, and consumers. They give creators the freedom to distribute and monetize their content and fans the ability to curate content and earn as a result, all on a community-owned and governed platform.

Key Points from the Interview:

  1. Tasafila: “It’s funny how people are just throwing in items or ideas but aren’t really ready to execute on those. So, it makes a lot of sense to really reduce and find that core value or core validation for something, and really focus there because that will scale much faster than trying to attack a bunch of different problems to cover more ground.”
  2. Gugz: “I’m hoping that Blockbuster will be one of the many places that people can come a lot more freely and still enjoy incredible amounts of incredible content.”
